'Yet once again, here we stand' by Glenn Marsden

Yet once again, here we stand,

With mental health’s plight close at hand.

Questions posed to those in power,

Yet answers echo, hour by hour.

Matt Berriman resigns, his voice suppressed,

Unable to speak, he’s put to the test.

Chair of mental health, silenced by the fray,

Does his departure signal the system’s clear decay?

“We can do better,” they proclaim,

But where’s the change, where’s the aim?

Funding flows, yet somehow diverts,

To organizations still seeking spurts.

When is enough, enough, we plea,

As we witness mental health’s agony.

Despairing systems, lives at cost,

How many more before we exhaust?

Who will stand to speak aloud for change,

To break the cycle, to rearrange?

Or will we see another soul lost,

Tragedy striking, at such a cost?

Those in power, before the camera’s glare,

Promises galore, yet no action there.

“Let’s research some more,” their refrain,

While lives hang in the balance, in pain.

So much money poured into this space,

Yet only a few sessions, a mere trace,

Of help given before costs ensnare,

Leaving many adrift, in despair.

When funds are raised to lend a hand,

Why does reciprocity seem to disband?

Tragedies unfold, the “right” words said,

Yet why does the public bear this tread?

It’s time for change, for voices to unite,

To demand action, to stand and fight.

For mental health, for those in need,

Together, we can sow the seed.

The Magic Of Imperfections ( Children's Book Series )

Today, I want to share something incredibly close to my heart, a project that my son Lincoln and I have poured our hearts into for the past year.

We are thrilled to bring the Imperfectly Perfect Campaign’s efforts to children around the world, with a children’s book series.

In a world that often expects perfection, we believe it's crucial to start addressing conversations about imperfections early with our children.

My son, ( being 10 ) has watched me from the sidelines for the past few years, addressing how important talking about our struggles are.

Conversation with him led to ‘The Magic Of Imperfections’ series which was the brainchild of Lincoln in hopes to create a future where children don't have to grow up in a world full of stigma.

This project teaches us all that every child is unique, and their differences should be celebrated, not hidden. It's about teaching them that they are enough just the way they are, that their quirks and qualities make them beautifully unique and any feelings they have are entirely valid to speak about openly.

As parents, we have a responsibility to foster an environment of acceptance, kindness, and empathy. We want our children to understand that imperfections are what make us human, and that there's strength in vulnerability. It's through these conversations that we can build a more compassionate world for our kids to thrive in.

I couldn't be prouder of Lincoln for him watching dad, and wanting to make a mark in this world himself !

With Los Angeles coming up, the series will be making an appearance alongside Volume 1 of our official book series so make sure to join our mailing list to keep updated on all the latest news

Make sure to be notified by registering at the link below so that you can grab your very own copy of 'Lincoln's book for your children as soon as we go live!

How sharing your story can both empower YOU but also help others who may be struggling

Sharing your story of overcoming adversity can empower you in several ways:

  1. Self-reflection and growth: When you share your story, you reflect on your journey, the challenges you faced, and the strategies you employed to overcome them. This process allows you to gain a deeper understanding of your own experiences and the lessons you've learned. It reinforces your resilience and can boost your self-confidence and self-esteem.

  2. Sense of purpose: Sharing your story can give you a sense of purpose and meaning. By helping others who may be going through similar struggles, you find value in your own experiences and transform them into a source of inspiration and support for others. It provides a sense of fulfillment and can contribute to your overall well-being.

  3. Connection and support: By sharing your story, you create a connection with others who have faced or are facing similar challenges. This connection can provide a support system where you can share experiences, exchange advice, and offer encouragement. Knowing that you're not alone in your struggles can be incredibly empowering and can help you build a network of like-minded individuals who understand and empathize with your journey.

Sharing your story of overcoming adversity can also help others who may be struggling:

  1. Inspiration and motivation: When others hear about your journey and how you overcame obstacles, it can inspire and motivate them to take action in their own lives. Your story can serve as a powerful example that change is possible and that they too can overcome their challenges. It provides hope and encouragement, giving them the confidence to persevere.

  2. Practical guidance: By sharing the strategies, tools, and resources you utilized during your journey, you can provide practical guidance to others who may be facing similar situations. Sharing your insights and lessons learned can equip them with valuable knowledge and empower them to make informed decisions. It can save them time, effort, and potential mistakes by offering a roadmap based on your experiences.

  3. Emotional support and validation: Sharing your story can offer emotional support to others by letting them know that they're not alone in their struggles. It validates their feelings and experiences, reassuring them that their challenges are real and valid. This validation can alleviate feelings of isolation and provide comfort, fostering a sense of belonging and community.

Overall, sharing your story of overcoming adversity can be a transformative experience for both yourself and others. It can empower you by reinforcing your resilience, providing a sense of purpose, and fostering connections. Simultaneously, it can help others by inspiring and motivating them, offering practical guidance, and providing emotional support. Dr. Joe Dispenza gets behind the Imperfectly Perfect Campaign's Global Efforts and shares his story

‘If I could today, teach my body emotionally how I want to feel. Then I have got to remember this feeling and I have got to keep my attention on it, I have got to keep it alive with my awareness and feel the feelings of my future before it happens and if I can maintain this modified state of mind and body, my entire day independent of any of my environment, any drive, any need, any emotion, any habit in my body, and independent of time I can sustain it. There should be something weird, something unusual or something new to show up in my life. And then if at the end of my day, I can say in my ‘Imperfectly Perfect’ self, how’d you do today, where did you fall from grace, where’d you lose it. How could you do it better tomorrow?’ - @drjoedispenza
